It was back in 2008 when The Strangers shook our guts and left us under tension throughout the entire movie. The masked psychopaths terrorized a young couple in a cabin in the middle of the woods, who were forced to fight in order to survive.
The best part is that we can now relive the same suspense in their new sequel called The Strangers: Prey At Night, which takes the story to a whole new level with new innocent victims. We’re curious what director Johannes Roberts has in store for us. In the original version, there was a lack of its own personality and the movie seemed similar to old horrors like Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Even though The Strangers has its die-hard fans, we’re curious on how it’ll make it in today’s modern horror landscape. Will it be paying homage to other movies, similar to The Purge movies, or will it grow and take on its own specific direction and personality that moviegoers will get excited about?
Here’s the synopsis of the movie before you take a look at the trailer:
A family’s road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family’s every limit as they struggle to survive. Johannes Roberts directs this horror film inspired by the 2008 smash hit THE STRANGERS.
