Halloween 2017 is approaching all you avid horror fanatics, so be prepared for the scares for the month of movie horror. Let’s highlight some of the most anticipated movie releases set for this October.  There are some new takes on classic horror movies, and new movies with plenty of suspense and gore which are possibly bound to strike fear in the hearts of many.

1. Demon Hole


Synopsis: A fracking crew drills on sacred land, unleashing a demon that terrorizes six teens who are participating in community service in the forest.

2. Dementia 13


Synopsis: Dementia 13 is a modern-day remake of Francis Ford Coppola’s film with the same exact name, which happens to be produced by Roger Corman.

3. Better Watch Out


Ashley travels to the Lerners’ house in the suburbs to baby-sit their 12-year-old son Luke for Christmas. She ends up having to fight against uninvited guests in hopes of saving herself and Luke.

4. Happy Death Day


College student, Tree Gelbman has to eternally relive the day of her murder with a sense of mystery and deja vu. She must discover her killer’s identity in order to stop the curse.

5. Escape Room


Six friends think a game of intelligence is as ordinary as ever. Well, guess what? Halloween is coming and we want to see people die. Luckily the ordinary and innocent game takes a sinister twist.

6. Nightworld


Brett Irlam, former LAPD Officer takes on a job as head of security at an old Bulgarian apartment building in Sofia. He starts to go through a myriad of terrifying events. As he starts to dig down into the building’s haunted history, he uncovers an evil force hidden away in the depths of the building that is yearning to be set free into the world. (Newsflash, the world isn’t as great as you think.)

7. Cult of Chucky


Chucky made his debut in Child’s Play in 1988 and quickly became a worldwide phenomenon in horror fans’ hearts. Chucky has now returned in hopes of ruining his newest human target, Nica’s life. The killer doll also plans to get even with a few of his old enemies with the help of his ex-wife.

8. Creep 2


Synopsis: A video artist named Sara ”entertains” lonely men. (Sara you aren’t the only one, my ex can probably relate to you!) After she finds an ad on the internet (Really Sara? Do you live under a rock or something?) for her personal video profession, she thinks she struck gold. She drives to a house deep in the forest to end up meeting a man who claims to be a serial killer. (Wow Sara, this only sounds like every other tinder date.)

9. Jigsaw


Bodies are being found around the city, none of which were ordinary deaths. As the investigation deepens, the evidence seems to root back to none other than John Kramer. He is also popularly known as Jigsaw and has been dead for the past decade. Did he come back to life? If that’s the case let’s hope he shares his skin routine with us!
